NICOLAS BOUCHON
In his current capacity as Vice-President, Product Development, Mr. Bouchon leads a group of 40 dedicated engineers, program managers, and technicians, in developing advanced electrified vehicle powertrains that deliver excellent fuel economy, low cost of ownership, and reduced emissions for AZD’s customers.
Since joining AZD in 2000 as an Applications Engineer, Mr. Bouchon has held the roles of Controls Team Lead, Systems Engineering Manager, and Director, Vehicle Engineering. He has been instrumental in developing AZD’s patented Smart Energy Management® system, having been awarded 4 patents with another 3 pending for his work on energy management optimization, regenerative braking, engine and transmission control, as well as emissions reduction algorithms.
Mr. Bouchon holds a B.A.Sc Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, with a specialization in Mechatronics.
