RON V. IACOBELLI, P.Eng
Mr. Iacobelli joined AZD in 2001 as the tenth employee. Mr. Iacobelli was the Director of Supply Chain and Quality for a short period of time before moving into the overall executive leadership role, including engineering and operations as Vice-President Strategic Development, then Senior Vice-President Development and Operations, to his current role as Chief Technology Officer. During his time at AZD, Mr. Iacobelli has led AZD’s product and technology development and strategic partnerships. Mr. Iacobelli has been instrumental in the overall commercialization of AZD’s core products and has managed the rapid growth of AZD’s development team. Under his leadership the company has grown from concept to commercialization in a few short but busy years.
Before joining AZD, Mr. Iacobelli was with Ballard Power Systems where he developed and led a supplier management program. Prior to that, Mr. Iacobelli spent 7 years at Ford Motor Company as Supplier Quality Manager, Senior Electrical Systems Engineer and Senior Chassis Systems Engineer. His experience includes exposure to all automotive systems with an emphasis on quality, manufacturing, process development and supplier management. Prior to joining Ford, Mr. Iacobelli was a Thermal Station Engineer with Ontario Hydro.
He has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Windsor and holds the P. Eng. designation in Ontario and British Columbia.
