AZD is targeting global niche markets including delivery fleets, utility
vehicles, shuttle buses and components and has attracted lead customers in
each segment. Lower volumes in the Class 3 to 5 medium duty trucks and Class
6 or 7 heavy duty trucks, limit the interest of a number of the big players
who are aggressively pursuing the millions of cars and light duty trucks
sold every year. This presents AZD with a unique opportunity to have a
dominate position in a market with very limited competition.
AZD’s growth will not just be driven by rising fuel costs or increasing
demand brought on by regulation and incentives, but by forging lasting
relationships with our customers, understanding their needs and providing
them with advanced, clean technologies to work in their marketplace.
