Test Development Engineer (Boston)

POSITION DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Test Development Engineer (Boston)
SUPERVISOR: Manager Power Electronics R&D

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a liaison between R&D and manufacturing.
  • Design and implement board testers to be used by manufacturers for testing of PCB assemblies.
  • Assist manufacturing with the design of test-stands for end-of-line component testing.
  • Assist with documenting designs for release to manufacturing.
  • Design and implement test-stands for component validation.
  • Assist with component validation and testing, including life-testing, EMC and temperature testing.
  • Trouble-shoot PCB assemblies for inverters and DC-DC converters.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, SPECIALIZED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
    • GUI development experience required; LabView experience desired.
    • Proficiency with programming in C is helpful.
    • Experience with data acquisition required.
    • Knowledge of analog and opamp circuits required.
    • PCB design experience required.
    • Hands-on experience with power electronics is required.
    • Good communication and presentation skills are required
    • Occasional travel is required.
       
  • Education/Certification:
    • BSEE or BSME degree with a specialization in power electronics. Prior experience in industry preferred.
