Mr. Elwood joined Azure Dynamics after spending nine years as a Partner and Co-founder of the Indian Motorcycle Company. Since joining Azure Dynamics, Mr. Elwood has spearheaded an initiative which has brought awareness to the benefits of these vehicles to the Federal Government of Canada. Mr. Elwood has become a catalyst for an entire industry in Canada as he was appointed Chair – Board of Directors for Electric Mobility Canada (EMC), this appointment came into effect in November of 2006. Through EMC Mr. Elwood has met with many MP’s and Ministers in Canada and has been able to promote an Adoption Program that has met considerable support in the Federal Government of Canada. While at Azure Mr. Elwood also trademarked the term ‘Part of the Solution™’ which has been adopted by the company as its corporate slogan and Azure has trademarked the term in a number of countries since. Part of the SolutionTM started as and still is a grassroots program focused on building awareness and promoting the adoption of Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) and Electric Vehicles (EV) within commercial fleet operations around the world. Mr. Elwood’s responsibilities to Azure have also included some basic internal Marketing programs for the products in commercial use as well as opening new markets. Mr. Elwood has also done extensive Brand development for Azure Dynamics and has made many presentations on the characteristics of the brand and the position in the world marketplace. Mr. Elwood has developed an extensive network of contacts key to the position of “sustainable commercial transportation” within the environmentally conscience world of the World Wildlife Fund, the Suzuki Foundation and The Canadian Lung Association, on many levels these contacts with high profile NGO’s and the Federal Government will serve well for products that target the benefit mankind.
